Current Year There were 80+ mothers and fathers come together, with their babies and children, at Statue Square in Central, in support for breastfeeding. This is to gain awareness for the need of breastfeeding support, whether it be in the workplace, public spaces, family and friends. According to the World Heath Organization, babies are recommended to be exclusively breastfeed for the first 6 months and continued breastfeeding along with appropriate complementary foods up to two years of age or beyond. It is wonderful to see breastfeeding mothers, breastfed babies and supportive fathers gather together in the community to support this cause and to support each other. This flashmob has been organised for the past 6 years, with a continual increase of participants. |
